season 2024
Matias signed a contract for the 2024 season with CV Performance Group to drive the German ADAC GT4 Germany series with the already familiar Mercedes Benz GT AMG car, and is involved in the team’s junior program. In the series, one-hour races are run together with another driver, and the driver is changed in the middle of the race. The second driver is Lachlan Robinson.

Matias has started his car racing career at the age of 7 with karting. He has more than 10 years of experience in national competitions up to the SM, EC and WC level.
The ground work has been done in a planned way and progressed step by step from the beginner class towards the championship, European championship and world championship level competitions. The journey has included both disappointments and several podium finishes, and the year 2016 ended with silver in the Finnish junior championship series.
In 2017, a step was taken towards bigger classes, competitions and experience. In 2017, the result was 37th in the OKj class European Championship and 6th in the National Championship.
The target for 2018 was to claim a medal in the SM series and after a tough fight, the Finnish Karting Federation awarded Matias with a gold medal and the SM series became silver. The ranking was also 4th in the X30 junior series. The season culminated in the World Championships in the OK class as a rookie and the result was 22nd in the final.
The main target of 2019 was the OK-class EC series, as well as the World Championship races in Finland, at the Alahärmä track, in September. In the EC series, the best achievement was 4th and Series ranking 19th. Unfortunately, the World Cup competitions ended in suspension.
The goal for the X30 class was to reach the World Finals at LeMans. This is an invitational competition and entry tickets are given to the winners of X30 class competitions and series, the goal is to get that ticket from the IameNordicSeries series, which is run in April – May in Sweden and Finland. Entry ticket to LeMans was obtained in 4th place in the Finnish X30 series.
More support was sought for the 2020 season with the German CV Performance Group. The goal is to the Italian WSK series, the Champions Of the Future series, the EC series and participate in the World Championships in Portimao, Portugal. We are also looking further into the future and the purpose is to drive some test days with a GT4 class AMG-Mercedes car.
For the 2021 season, an agreement was made with CV Performance Group to the DTM Trophy series with the MB AMG evo GT4 car. The best ranking of the season was 5th on the fast track of Monza. The season was also full of bad luck and one race weekend was missed due to the covid-19 quarantine, and four races were missed due to technical problems or crashes. However, the final result of the rookie season was satisfactory.
For the 2022 season, the team changed to another German. We made an agreement with T3 Motorsport to continue driving the DTM Trophy series. The season started promisingly with tests, but in the first race technical problems led to an interruption. Unfortunately, the season that started well was interrupted by T3 Motorsport’s financial problems. For the rest of the season, places were searched for individual races and the GTC Hockenheim race resulted in Pirelli G60 race 2nd and sprint 2nd places. For the BATCC Endurance race, 1st place in qualifying at the Porsche Ring would have been a good place to start the race, but technical problems prevented the race from being run. Legends was also tried out successfully, 3 podium in one weekend. The season ended in the 5th place in the Finnish Championship competition in KZ2.
In the 2023 season, Matias drove a Porsche Sprint Challenge NEZ series Porsche 911 GT3 RS with Relaa Racing as a Porsche JuniorProgram driver. Competitions were held in Finland, Estonia and Latvia. The target of season was only the championship! The target fell short by two points, resulting in a series vice champion! In the BEC4H Endurance race, we got the class win and the 3rd place overall together with Miika Panu.
